Another “meeting” with French bureaucracy, affectionately known by the French as “l’administration”. Monday was my real appointment at the main prefecture (police station, sort of…) for Paris. The appointment at the previous prefecture was just an interview to see if I was dodgey, a check of key documents (but not all documents….) and to have a [...] There was a small gathering of protesters outside the Palais de Justice this afternoon. I just happened to walk past as I was coming home from French class. And boy am I happy that I did! The place was teaming with hot french riot police, called the “Gendarmerie”. Tall, slim, but not skinny, with riot armour [...] |
